Crab Spring 01:55
I wake up in the morning just like I do every day Hop on my bicycle and ride fast away The month of April’s coming And soon it will be here to stay. Crab-apple blossoms line the sidewalks of the streets Which twist and spin forever like a massive ball of string The pollen mixes into a smell of seafood Into my mouth comes floating Crab Spring The pink and orange blossoms wafting through the air As I push down on my pedals in the direction of nowhere Through every nook and cranny Spring wind running through my hair As the grass gets greener and the blossoms get pink In a shower of petals I ride home and think And sit back on the front lawn As the sun rises and it sinks Crab Spring Crab Spring Crab Spring

The Traveler 03:44
Traveler’s Tip me over and pour me out I’m boiling to the full I’m a teapot I am a locomotive I’m a lump of burning coal I’m a raving wandering wild rover I’m simmering like a stove I’m a madman with a lucid dream I’m here and then I go And Lord only knows how very long This burden I will tow But I’ll never stop to rest my dear Until I’ve found my home [break] In all the places I go in my head I’ve been playin rock and roll From the steel jungles of Detroit To New York to New Mexico From the frozen fields of Alaska To the green ones in Idaho One of these days darling I’ll find you And when I do I’ll find my home And Lord only knows how very long This rowboat I will row But I’ll never stop to rest my dear Until I’ve found my home [bridge] I’m ship that has no anchor I’ve no clue where to sail I’m travelling round the universe In the belly of a whale Sniffing my way through the tall grass Fall in love with everyone But I’m afraid I can’t stay long I’m chasing the setting sun [verse] I’m following the footprints Where they lead I go Tumbling stones stop at the sea But my wheels always roll And Lord only knows just how long This burden I will tow But I’ll never stop to rest my dear Until I’ve found my home And Lord only knows just how long This rowboat I will row But I’ll never stop to rest my dear Until I’ve found my home

Blinded by the light As I soon regain my sight And visions of pretty things Dance behind my eyes. So now I wake up one day older With a blade between my shoulders And I’m staring at the wall And I’m trying to find a pulse. The ground is wet, the wool is dry, Because I left the wool inside. Maybe this is all a sign. The crop circles look like your eyes. Storm clouds hide the day As the rain washes me and the summer away. So I put on my rainbow coat And out the door I go. And no matter how many wars My bundle of wheat bows down to yours. A red hot coal touches my lips And I say you’re the one I miss But I can’t talk to you right now I set my hand to the plow But when every day’s an endless rhyme I think of you to pass the time… And the rain is coming down. I’m like the worms on the ground. You’re shadow’s everywhere I’ve been. Pour me out here like cement. Oh, God has He forsaken me, As I hang by my hair from a tree. I’ve been trapped here all day, As I watch you come this way And no matter what I say or do The stars and moon bow down to you As the walls of the city fall A hand writes your name on my bedroom wall But I can’t talk to you right now, I set my hand right to the plow, But when every day’s and endless rhyme I think of you to pass the time.

Take me down to the rushing river Take me down to the shore. Take me down to the running water And cleanse my dirty soul. Take me down deep into the forest Take me to the deep ravine. Take me down to the rushing river Where the water’s pure and clean. Take me down to the endless highway Take me out on the road. Show me the way that leads to the light And that’s the way I’ll go. Headlights float like glowing planets In the deepest void of space. Lights shine bright and I’m chasing after Leading to a brighter place. Take me down to the widest ocean Take me to the bloody red sea. Take a look through your binoculars Look far enough and you’ll see me. Swim across for me if you can I’ll swim across for you. Sooner or later I’ll lose faith and drown Please save me if I do. Take me out to the moaning desert Where mountains keep out the rain. Show me where children burn machines. And a heart is full of pain. Take me out to the bitter plain Where forests used to grow. Take me out to the starry night Where we see but we don’t know. Take me to the quiet warmth Where all is right with the world. Take me to the quiet axis Where a sleeping planet turns. Take away the darkness and Put light in this place. Take me and take me away From the heartbreak we have faced. Take me down to the rushing river Take me down to the shore. Take me down to the running water And cleanse my dirty soul.

Dust 04:16
The field is made of grass Stretching on without end The mountain’s piled high with rocks Where it ends, the sky begins And all trees are made of roots And branches wide and thin And I was made from dust And I’ll soon be dust again Blue sky is the ocean And the deeper things within Thunderclouds and lightning reach Out for my outstretched hands And the house that good old Jack built Will one day bow to the wind As the dust slips through my fingers I’ll soon be dust again. A woman’s arm is hard to hold For a firey young man. One day I’ll grab on tight And hold on till the end. The clocks don’t stop for no one Except God and the Seraphim For I was made from dust And I’ll soon be dust again. Hallelujah – I see the sand below Hallelujah – The boat’s rowing in to the shore Hallelujah – Ground keep my bones where they’re hid Hallelujah – Till we find Jerusalem. Goodnight to the soft earth The dust falling from my hand, The Sun sets in the west; The last fire of the land Forever and Omega Infinity and the end. For I was made from Dust, And I will rise again.

Three thousand miles from Nebraska to Alaska Where my mind is pure like the new fallen northern snow Why are going so fast, just thought I’d ask ya I can’t say a word cause truth is I don’t know There’s a long road from Alaska to Nebraksa Buts through the dying forest of the world. I stick out my thumb and I ask When go down this road will I ever return? Every day God’s hand nudges me onward I’m following a pillar of fire from here to there. Every day I’m chasing after the whispers Until I finally find somewhere And that’s where I’m gonna be. I saw Jesus Christ Nebraska Standing with his back to the rising sun I just caught a glimpse as I drove past Maybe I’ll see him again in the days to come I free fall right into Alaska Where God’s roof soars high above the clouds And down a labyrinth of my foot tracks I’m not lost just trying to be found. Every hour body and soul gets weaker And I grow fainter day by day Every day I feel a little lighter Someday I just might float away…

Who would have thought, who would have knew That somehow someway I’d be sitting next to you Who would have knew, who would have seen That I’d be sitting with you on this grass that is colored green The weather’s not exactly what I’d like I found myself in the unfortunate spot where lightning decided to strike But I’m okay, and I’m with you The good Lord’s looking out and together we’ll make it through And sometimes the goons try to take my limbs from their sockets And sometimes the goons try to lock me in the closet And sometimes I miss the sunshine for the rain But when I’m with you, it feels like all summer in a day When it rains it pours this I know The river overflows the dam bursts and floods our green meadow But I can swim, I’ll make sure you can breathe In time you and I will see that this is how God does His cleaning Wildflower bends against the storm The forces of nature try to rip the roots from the soil But it was planted with stronger hands than these And when the sun comes out it fills the meadow with its peace And sometimes the goons try to take my limbs from their sockets And sometimes the goons try to lock me in the closet And sometimes I miss the sunshine for the rain But when I’m with you, it feels like all summer in a day   These days the thunderstorms last all year The thunder crashes and rain pours down, making it hard to hear Hard to hear you speak Say the words I need to hear and pull me out from the kitchen sink These days the thunderstorms last all year It rains and it floods my lungs and locks me up and fills with fear But I’m okay, and I’m with you The good Lord’s looking out and together we’ll make it through And sometimes the goons try to take my limbs from their sockets And sometimes the goons try to lock me in the closet And sometimes I miss the sunshine for the rain But when I’m with you, it feels like all summer in a day The ghosts and the demons lock me away They shove me in this small dark place and I sometimes don’t come out for days But you have the key, you pull off the heist Take my hand and lead me out and cut through the storm clouds like a knife So believe me when I say we’ll be alright We can light each other up like fireflies light up the night And at dawn we’ll see the sun just wait and see We’ll touch it as it rises and it’ll make us warm and set us free And sometimes the goons try to take my limbs from their sockets And sometimes the goons try to lock me in the closet And sometimes I miss the sunshine for the rain But when I’m with you, it feels like all summer in a day

Cold November snow Flutters down onto me as I Start across the parking lot And make my way to the comic book store Where you were waiting And we were superheroes flying in the sky … You and me walking talking In hushed voices for what seemed to be A really long time When I was twelve years old I took the smallest bottle I could find And crammed in my feelings And set it on a high shelf I don’t know, maybe that’s why I can’t really talk to you I’m surrounded with white fences … Sometimes opening the gate can have Disastrous consequences I guess that’s just a chance I’ll have to take Annoy me any time you want It will give something to do When my counterpart puts on its puppet show And rips me clean in two Don’t leave me if I lash out I’m really on the edge these days I know how to hurt the ones I love One too many ways And I Live with myself Day after day Seasons Pass Seasons change I’m so nervous I can’t speak And when I’m feeling that I can I don’t really get the message across Nobody understands in the end. Across the street are the boys Singing symphonies of words that they don’t mean While I tear my skin On the thorns of a rosebush And I Live with myself Day After Day Seasons pass Seasons change Put a rag in my mouth And scream all day at the sky Rip my chest open And spill out whatever’s left inside. I’ve no reason to believe That you even remember me Still sitting here by the front door to the store As the snow begins to cover me…
10.
I see you standing there, Barefoot, black hair, Hair amidst falling pink blossoms Spring blossoms falling on your hair, And onto the emerald green grass, On which you stand The sun shines gently But brightly, and you hold it in your hands I am standing here Bruised, cut feet, leaves in my hair, Dead leaves falling around me, On me, shin deep, a deep pool of fiery leaves Where it’s windy, the wind blows And where the sun shines, the plants grow And as I rake these leaves I can start to see the dying grass below And as I hang my head over I can hear that old wind blow… You and me Fall and Spring With a hot airless summer in between. You were the very beginning But I knew, I always knew, I’d be the ending This vision, this ghost of a vision, Ever remains with me As I travel these streets Each one ends the same Each leaf dies in the same way But dyin is a part of livin So I rake the leaves And I put them away And as you feed your thirsty plants And watch the green leaves grow Can you still listen hard and hear that old wind blow? You and me Fall and Spring But there’s too many months in between

Well the road rose up to meet me, So, I went out and I shook its hand. I said “Can you give me directions From here to across the land?” “Just follow me,” the road said, “Whereabouts do you head?” “I’m looking for a place I can live all seasons I’m sure you’ll understand.” Well I stopped at the fill-up station And I talked to the fill-up man. And I just asked him “Can you fill it up?” “It says on my sign I can. You know I’ve been round here many a year But where’re you going, man?” “I’m looking for someone who’ll love me all seasons I’m sure you’ll understand.” Well I traveled through the desert Towards the sun setting blood red And this old coyote came and saw And walked on over and said, “What are you doing way out here In this dry land of dead?” “I’m praying for hope that’ll last for all seasons I’m sure you’ll understand.” Well I just kept on going Till I was sure I found the edge of the world I stood on the highest cliff I ever saw While the ocean crashed below And there was an old man who lived there “What do you seek?” he said. “I’m looking for a song that’s for all seasons I’m sure you understand.” Leaves falling and snowy blankets Things are born and then they end The summer sun and the storms it brings Washes it all away again Rain pours down in buckets And tumbleweeds blow in the wind I’m looking for a song that’s for all seasons I’m sure you understand.
